When I first started working in menswear, it was somewhat foreign to me because prior to that, I had been only designing for women. Throughout this shift in my career, I have developed a strong sense of what men today are interested in wearing and that it is not as straight-laced as before. Because the silhouette in men's clothing is less varied, details such as washes, trims, prints, and finishings can really make-or-break a garment. I truly believe that dapperness is open to interpretation and is more self-defined if anything. I've also come to realize a key feature in successfully designing men's attire is that it should be easy to wear.
