After making my senior collection at SFSU, I've realized how much work and effort it takes to produce one. My last assignment before graduation was to come up with three separate collections: an evolution of your senior collection, one for a major retailer, and a whole new collection. This really challenged my design versatility and I enjoyed every minute of it. I continued with the athletic feel of Neo Camelot for my evolution collection, but used very sturdy and structured fabrics instead of the soft jersey I had used before. For a major retailer, I chose H&M because they have such a broad range of styles that I could integrate my own designs into their market. Designing this collection was particularly tricky because I needed to consider their demographic, but I found a happy medium without sacrificing my aesthetic. I came up with a completely different concept for my next collection because I wanted to see how far I could go with costume and fashion. War and Peace was inspired by (Tolstoy) the military and 1960s counterculture. I wanted to play with the different tones of gray within the black and white family and add an element of nature with the rope.
