Westcott Designs

During my study abroad program in London, I interned at Westcott Designs, which is a textile design firm. Because I was so used to designing through form, I kind of neglected the fact that textiles play an important role in making or breaking a design. At Westcott Designs, I was immersed in a world of prints, graphics, texture, and color. I was responsible for assisting designers with research, patterns, sewing, finishing, dyeing, etc. for Première Vision. I also gained some insight on how business operated in a foreign country. There were definitely some significant differences in the work environment between the UK and US. Overall, I had an amazing experience, and it has opened up a world of wonder that I had not thought about before.
